Ingredients

CASSEROLE

1/2
lb. hot dogs, sliced
1
(10 3/4-oz.) can condensed Cheddar cheese soup
1
(7-oz.) can vacuum-packed whole kernel corn, drained
2
tablespoons finely chopped onion

TOPPING

cup water
2
tablespoons margarine or butter
1 1/2
cups mashed potato flakes
1/2
cup milk

egg, slightly beaten

oz. (1/2 cup) shredded Cheddar cheese

  • 1 Heat oven to 350°F. In large bowl, combine all casserole ingredients; mix well. Spoon into ungreased 2-quart casserole; set aside.
  • 2 In medium saucepan, bring water and margarine to a boil. Remove from heat. Stir in potato flakes and milk. Add egg; blend well. Spoon and spread over casserole.
  • 3 Bake at 350°F. for 35 to 45 minutes or until thoroughly heated. Sprinkle with cheese and paprika. Bake an additional 3 minutes or until cheese is melted.

Prepare recipe as directed above except omit Cheddar cheese and paprika; do not bake. Cover with foil; freeze. When ready to use, do not thaw; bake, covered, at 350°F. for 1 hour 35 minutes. Uncover; bake an additional 15 to 20 minutes or until mixture is thoroughly heated. Sprinkle with Cheddar cheese and paprika; bake an additional 3 minutes or until cheese is melted.
