Directions

  • 1 Heat oven to 425°F. In 1-quart saucepan, melt butter over medium-high heat. Add broccoli and milk; cook 2 to 3 minutes, stirring occasionally, just until broccoli is heated. Stir in chicken. Remove from heat.
  • 2 Separate dough into 4 rectangles; firmly press perforations to seal. Place 1/4 cup broccoli-chicken mixture and 1/4 cup cheese on one half of each dough rectangle. Fold other half of dough rectangle over filling. With fork, seal edges. Gently transfer hand pies to ungreased cookie sheet.
  • 3 In small bowl, beat egg with water until frothy. Brush tops of hand pies with thin layer egg wash.
  • 4 Bake 10 to 12 minutes or just until medium golden brown. Cool slightly before serving, 3 to 5 minutes.

got everything to make these this weekend for an easy and different lunch next week. I think I will add some onion to it for some added flavor. I make a chicken broccoli casserole with onion and it's amazing!

These were easy and my husband and daughter love them but i think they need something like dijon mustard mixed in. Im going to try these again with my own twist. I also used the seamless sheet of cresent dough and cut my own squares. This works in a pinch if u cant find the big and flaky cresents. Anyone else think of adding something to bring out more flavor? Also use a precooked rotisserie chicken. Makes it so much easier!!

I was wondering if you could freeze these? My husband needs a bag lunch and these sound perfect for him but I would like to make a few "batches" and freeze them. Thanks for any info!

My son & I made this last night. So easy and OH SO GOOD! It practically melts in your mouth. Loaded with flavor, as we used the buttery cresents. Awesome recipe!!
