Combine four ingredients with 30 minutes of your time and Italian pasta dinner is ready. Enjoy tomato-garlic flavors with fettuccine – a saucy meal.

Ingredients

8
oz uncooked fettuccine
1
tablespoon vegetable oil
10
cloves garlic, finely chopped
2
cans (14.5 oz each) Italian-style stewed tomatoes, undrained

Steps

  • 1 Cook fettuccine to desired doneness as directed on package. Drain; cover to keep warm.
  • 2 Meanwhile, in 10-inch skillet, heat oil over medium heat until hot. Add garlic; cook and stir 2 to 3 minutes or until tender. Stir in tomatoes; simmer 10 to 14 minutes, stirring occasionally, until slightly thickened.
  • 3 To serve, place fettuccine on serving platter; top with tomato sauce. If desired, sprinkle with Parmesan cheese. Serve immediately.

Expert Tips

For a colorful twist to this super simple recipe, use spinach fettuccine.

When you've forgone the fat in your recipe, chances are you may have lost some flavor, too. Try adding fat-free flavor boosters such as dried tomatoes or mushrooms, hot pepper sauce, onions, garlic, horseradish or herbs and spices.
