Ingredients

cup Watkins™ Sesame Seed
1
container Pillsbury™ Gluten Free refrigerated pizza crust dough
1/4
cup plus 1 tablespoon Crisco® 100% Extra Virgin Olive Oil
1/2
cup drained pimiento-stuffed green olives
1
cup coarsely chopped drained roasted red bell peppers (from a jar)
3
tablespoons Watkins™ Cilantro Leaves
1
teaspoon Watkins™ Garlic Powder

    Heat oven to 400°F. Line large cookie sheets with Reynolds® Parchment Paper.

    To make mini pita crisps: In small bowl, place sesame seed; set aside. Divide dough into 16 equal parts; shape into 1 1/4-inch balls. Coat each dough ball with sesame seed; press sesame seeds into dough. Place dough balls 3 inches apart on cookie sheets. Place sheet of parchment paper on top of dough balls. Press flat-bottom drinking glass on each ball to form 3-inch round. Brush dough rounds with 1 tablespoon of the oil. Bake 6 to 9 minutes or until light golden brown; cool 5 minutes.

    Meanwhile, to make tapenade: In food processor or blender, place olives, roasted peppers, cilantro, garlic powder, 1/4 teaspoon fine sea salt and 1/4 teaspoon fresh ground black pepper. Cover; process about 30 seconds, scraping sides occasionally, until finely chopped. Add remaining 1/4 cup oil; process with quick on-and-off motions until blended.

    Spoon tapenade into serving bowl; serve with warm mini pitas. Tapenade can be made up to 3 days in advance; store covered in refrigerator.

Expert Tips

To reheat mini pitas, place on ungreased cookie sheet and bake at 350°F for 5 minutes.
