Saturday Night Steak with Grilled Mushrooms

tablespoons soy sauce
large garlic cloves, minced
(6 to 8-oz.) beef T-bone steaks (3/4 inch thick)
oz. fresh mushrooms (shiitake, portobello, crimini or button mushrooms)


  1. 1 GRILL DIRECTIONS: In small bowl, combine soy sauce and garlic; mix well. Brush half of soy sauce mixture over both sides of steaks. Let stand at room temperature for 15 to 30 minutes to marinate.
  2. 2 Meanwhile, heat grill. Thread mushrooms onto two 8-inch metal skewers. Brush mushrooms with some of remaining soy sauce mixture.
  3. 3 When ready to grill, place steaks on gas grill over medium heat or on charcoal grill 4 to 6 inches from medium coals. Cook 10 to 15 minutes or until of desired doneness, turning once. During last 5 to 8 minutes of cooking time, place mushrooms on grill. Cook, turning once and brushing frequently with soy sauce mixture. Serve steaks with mushrooms.
