Enjoy this two-berry jam with a tangy twist - perfect condiment to be served with any dessert or as a spread.

Ingredients

1
cup crushed strawberries (1 pint whole berries)
1
cup crushed raspberries (1 pint whole berries)
4
cups sugar
1/2
teaspoon grated lemon peel
1
tablespoon lemon juice
1
pouch (3 ounces) liquid fruit pectin

Steps

  • 1 Mix berries and sugar in large glass or plastic bowl. Let stand at room temperature about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until sugar is dissolved.
  • 2 Mix in lemon peel, lemon juice and pectin. Stir 3 to 5 minutes or until slightly thickened.
  • 3 Spoon mixture into freezer containers, leaving 1/2-inch headspace. Seal immediately. Let stand at room temperature until set, about 24 hours. Refrigerate up to 3 weeks, or freeze up to 1 year (thaw in refrigerator or at room temperature before serving). Use as a spread or in desserts.

If fresh berries aren't readily available, frozen berries, thawed and drained, are a good substitute.
