Garlic-Dijon Topped Steaks

  • 2 whole garlic bulbs
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 6 (5-oz.) frozen ready-to-cook boneless beef bottom sirloin steaks

    GRILL DIRECTIONS: Heat grill. Cut 12-inch square of heavy-duty foil; spray with nonstick cooking spray. Cut 1/2 inch from top of each garlic bulb; remove outer paper-like layers. In small bowl, combine olive oil and mustard; mix well. Set aside.

    Place garlic bulbs in microwave. Microwave on HIGH for about 1 1/2 minutes or until tender. Cool 1 minute. Squeeze garlic bulb to release garlic cloves onto sprayed foil. Top with mustard mixture. Wrap securely in foil using double-fold seals.

    When ready to grill, place garlic packet and frozen steaks on gas grill over medium-high heat or on charcoal grill 4 to 6 inches from medium-high coals. Cook 12 to 18 minutes or until garlic is soft and steaks are of desired doneness, turning once.

    With fork, carefully mash cloves and mix with mustard mixture until well blended. Serve with steaks.

  • Individually frozen steaks have been marinated in a tenderizing solution that contains salt. Additional seasoning is not required.
  • You can use thawed steaks for this recipe, just decrease the grilling time to 7 to 10 minutes. Turn the steaks once.
  • To loosen the wrap from frozen steaks microwave each steak on HIGH for 20 seconds.
