Delicious slow-cooked chicken flavored with creamy paprika sauce and sour cream makes a hearty dinner for five!

Ingredients

bone-in chicken thighs (about 2 1/2 lb), skin removed

medium onion, sliced

tablespoons chicken broth or water

tablespoons paprika
1/2
teaspoon salt

tablespoons cold water

tablespoons cornstarch

container (8 oz) sour cream with chives

Steps

  • 1 In 3 1/2- to 6-quart slow cooker, place chicken thighs and onion. In small bowl, mix broth and paprika. Pour over chicken. Sprinkle with salt.
  • 2 Cover; cook on Low heat setting 7 to 8 hours.
  • 3 About 15 minutes before serving, with slotted spoon, remove chicken and onion from slow cooker; place on serving platter. Cover to keep warm.
  • 4 In small bowl, blend water and cornstarch until smooth. Stir into liquid in slow cooker. Increase heat setting to High. Cover; cook 8 to 10 minutes longer or until thickened. Stir in sour cream. Pour sauce over chicken.

Expert Tips

If you can't find sour cream with chives, sometimes labeled as "potato topping," use an 8-oz container of sour cream and add 1 tablespoon chopped fresh or dried chives. To save time in the morning, remove the skin from the chicken the night before.
