GRILL DIRECTIONS: Heat grill. Cut 18x12-inch sheet of heavy-duty foil. Place apple slices on foil. In small bowl, combine margarine, honey and cinnamon. Spoon margarine mixture over apple slices; sprinkle with raisins. Wrap packet securely with double-fold seals, allowing room for heat expansion.

When ready to grill, place packet on gas grill over medium heat or on charcoal grill 4 to 6 inches from medium coals; cover grill. Cook 10 to 15 minutes or until apples are tender, turning packet over once. Stir before serving.

  • Firm, ripe pears can be used in place of the apples. Overripe pears will become mushy when heated; be sure to start with just-ripe pears.
  • Dried cranberries can be used in place of raisins.
  • An apple corer/slicer is a handy tool that makes quick work of separating an apple into snack wedges, and leaves little to clean up.
  • Serve this side dish with meat such as pork, turkey or chicken, or serve it as a warm fruit accompaniment at breakfast.
