Start with a container of either Pillsbury refrigerated country Italian bread or crusty French loaf and follow these steps:
Cut the dough crosswise into 9 slices. With kitchen scissors, cut around the outside of each slice 7 times on a diagonal, cutting in about 1 inch, to form petals.
Brush the dough with beaten egg white; sprinkle with poppy seeds.

Then bake the flower buns at 350 degrees for 15 to 20 minutes or until golden brown.
