If I had things my way, we’d be able to enjoy an international sporting event every single year. Although I have a hard time deciding whether I love watching them more in the winter or summer, I think winter takes the cake simply because it breaks up the cold-weather blahs and gives me something to look forward to since football season’s wrapping up.
During the two-week run of the event, my husband and I have made it a tradition to open our house to friends for casual viewing parties at least a couple times. Since we never know when people are going to swing by, I’m keeping my menu simple this year and utilizing my slow cooker. Here’s a look at what’s going to be served at our party.
For dessert, I’m totally serving these Marshmallow-Lemon Snowdrifts. I love the snowy, wintry look of these cookies and think they’re the perfect sweet note to end on. I’m thinking of swapping out the lemon curd for blueberry and strawberry preserves to play up the red, white and blue theme.
