Spiced Pear Martini How-To

This martini is a simple but elegant cocktail to serve at your next party.

Entertaining during the holidays can be challenging. So when I have a cocktail party, I like to offer drinks that are easy but elegant. My Spiced Pear Martini is both.

This recipe is super simple but makes such a great presentation. The spiced touch of cinnamon and nutmeg blends well with the richness of pear nectar.

This recipe can be doubled or tripled to make several drinks at a time, allowing you to easily dole out drinks like a professional bartender in short order.

The pear nectar can be found in the juice section of the grocery store. I like to make sure that all my ingredients are chilled first, so I refrigerate the pear juice and keep my vodka in the freezer. Because of the alcohol level in the vodka, it doesn’t freeze but gets ice cold. It’s not necessary to do this, but it does make for an extra-cold drink.

I usually slice my pears to have them ready for garnishing. To keep them from turning brown, give them a squeeze of lemon juice.

If you don’t have a martini shaker, you can just use a pitcher with ice. Or make a mock shaker with two cups of different diameters placed open end to open end.

Once you mix your cocktail and strain it into the glass, a sprinkle of cinnamon and nutmeg make this drink pop.
