Pretzel-Crusted Pizza
A snack-time staple meets the ultimate dinner dish in this easy pizza night recipe.

Who doesn’t love the chewy taste of a salty pretzel? It’s a favorite snack both of my kids enjoy. So when I told them I needed some help to make a pizza version, they ran to the kitchen! The Classic Pillsbury Pizza Crust magically takes on the taste of a pretzel thanks to the baking soda wash it gets before you bake it. Since salt is always served with pretzels I didn’t want to leave that out, so my daughter came up with the idea to sprinkle some around the edges of the pizza. We also added a pinch of oregano to keep within the flavors of a traditional pizza and the end result was given a huge (kid-friendly) thumbs up.

Pretzel-Crusted Pizza

Prepare your ingredients and preheat the oven.

Pizza crust, shredded mozzarella, pizza sauce, sausage

Unroll the pizza dough and lay it flat on a 13 x 9 inch baking tray. Using a pastry brush coat the dough with the water and baking soda mixture.

Get your kids to help spread the pizza sauce over the dough almost to the edge but leaving one-inch crust.

Now for the toppings. I used sausage, but you could easily switch it up for pepperoni or keep it classic with just cheese and tomato sauce. Either way you’re going to love it! Sprinkle the edges of the pizza with the salt and oregano and bake in the oven for 12-15 minutes and the cheese is melted and bubbling.
