My husband and I love pecan pie. We also love noshing on handfuls of Muddy Buddies. Both are holiday staples in our home, so one day I thought, “Why not combine the two?” I can assure you it tastes just like pecan pie. Plus, it’s husband-approved!
You will love how quickly this recipe comes together. Measure your Chex cereal and pecans, and then toss them into a very large bowl, preferably with a lid. Set aside.
Combine the butter, corn syrup and salt in a microwave-safe bowl. Heat in the microwave for about 30 seconds, or until the butter is melted, and then pour it over the cereal. Stir with a wooden spoon to coat.
Next is the fun part! Dump the powdered sugar into the bowl, cover it and shake, shake, shake! Keep shaking until the cereal mixture is evenly coated.
Open the lid and your pecan pie is ready to be eaten — not by the slice, but by the handful!
