There are so many hybrid recipes to choose from nowadays, but here’s one I hadn’t seen before: Pepperoni Pizza-Stuffed Doughnuts! I was surprised at how easy this recipe turned out. Pillsbury biscuit dough is the best choice for making doughnuts, no matter your filling – it puffs up perfectly with flaky layers. Stuff them with cheesy, pepperoni goodness, give them a nice dusting of Parmesan cheese and your family won’t be able to resist!

First, open the biscuits and lay them on a lightly floured work surface. While you’re prepping the doughnuts, heat your oil to 375°F.

Using a rolling pin, roll out each biscuit to about four inches in diameter.

Flattened dough rounds

Place one tablespoon of pizza sauce in the center of each round of dough. Then arrange two slices of pepperoni on top of the sauce, followed by one tablespoon of shredded cheese.

For each doughnut, fold the edges of the biscuit in towards the center, pinching the dough together as you go. Once the filling is covered with dough, gently pat them with your hand and place them seam side down in the hot oil.

Fry for one minute on each side, then place them on paper towels to cool for two minutes. Dust with dry Parmesan and serve warm. If you want to make these doughnuts ahead of time, simply reheat them in the oven before sprinkling with Parmesan.
