The beauty of this skillet meal is that you get all of the hearty flavors packed into traditional lasagna, with half of the prep and bake time. I used to save lasagna for Sunday nights, when I have extra time to layer all the ingredients. But with this speedy version, my family and I can enjoy Sunday dinner-level comfort food any night of the week. (Extra bonus: your cheesy side bread is baked right on top!)
Here's a how I make it my own:
- Lighten it up with turkey sausage instead of ground pork.
- Add a little heat with red pepper flakes. About half a teaspoon is just right.
- Sprinkle the biscuits with a little extra seasoning before baking. Garlic salt and parsley are the favorites at my house.
