Who loves baked pasta? This girl loves baked pasta. It’s so satisfying, endlessly adaptable and guaranteed to show you care.

But baked pasta is also—and this is just between you, me and the entire Internet—completely, totally, impossibly easy. You literally throw it together, and you have a hearty and filling meal ready in no time. You don’t even need a side dish. And if it happens to impress people? Well that, as they say, is just gravy.

A great example of an easy-yet-impressive pasta bake is this Chicken Alfredo Baked Penne. Creamy, cheesy and oh so easy, it’s comfort food, complete with kid-friendly chicken tenders and easy frozen broccoli. You get all the flavor of chicken Alfredo from your favorite Italian restaurant, but in just 35 minutes total at home.

Here's how I make it my own:

  • Add crumbled cooked bacon, because it is chicken and broccoli’s natural mate.
  • Use frozen spinach instead of broccoli, in a nod to my favorite skillet dip.
  • Change up the protein—creamy Alfredo sauce would taste so great with sliced or crumbled Italian sausage (cooked, of course).
