Meatball Sub Bubble-Up Bake

This has been the winter of the bubble-up bake. What’s not to love? Cheese? Good. Biscuits? Great. Everything layered together and baked to cheesy, bubbly perfection? Blissful! The best part is that most of these recipes prep in 20 minutes. My current favorite is a family-size version of the classic Italian sub sandwich.

Here's how I make it my own:

  • Use some homemade meatballs that add an extra layer of flavor without any extra effort. These large-batch 5-Ingredient Meatballs are my go-to. 
  • Swap in a handful of sundried tomatoes in place of the bell pepper for even faster prep. (No chopping!)
  • Mix in extra provolone to up the cheese factor. While most Italian cheese blends have some mixed in, this bake is even better with an added layer.
