Popcorn Chicken Pops
Skip the fast food versions of this popular chicken dish and make your own!

I wonder what it is that makes kids excited when they see food that can be eaten and played with at the same time. These popcorn chicken pop skewers became swords for my son, much to the dismay of his sister. But as soon as they started to dip them in their barbecue sauce, all distractions were gone. They cleared almost all of them in a short time and begged me to make them again. 

These were really easy to make and have less than 5 ingredients! You could double this recipe and make some for a picnic or have them as a ballgame snack. Everyone likes chicken they can dip; it’s easy to make and easy to eat. 

Prepare chicken by rinsing with cold water and drying with a paper towel. Cut the chicken into strips and then into cubes.

Set up your breading station with the egg, flour and breadcrumbs.

Start to dip the chicken cubes into your flour, then the egg and finally into your breadcrumbs. Transfer the breaded chicken to a tray until all of it has been coated. Place 4 cubes of breaded chicken onto the tops of each skewer leaving a small gap between each cube.

Transfer to your greased baking tray and bake in the oven for 20 minutes, turning each skewer over at the halfway mark.
