I love this time of year where ice cream trucks are on neighborhood streets and ice cream parlors are filled with families. Because this is the perfect time to embrace ice-cream addictions, I have a quick and easy recipe for fun-to-eat sundae cups.
Chex and ice cream might not seem like a good fit but trust me, they are. I used Chocolate Chex cereal but there are lot of fun flavors like Vanilla, Honey Nut, and even Apple Cinnamon that would be just as great to experiment with—just imagine a Chex Mix Apple Cinnamon Cup filled with Vanilla Ice Cream and drizzled with caramel sauce!
To get started, simply melt butter in a large saucepan and add your marshmallows. Allow those to melt until they are soft and gooey.
Next you add in your cereal and mix together into a magical mixture that’ll only be complete once you stuff into your muffin pans and form into cute tiny cups.
That’s all there is to it! Allow cereal cups to cool completely before removing from tins. Then, add ice cream and your favorite toppings.
