#1: 2-Ingredient Cereal Cookies Formula: 1 roll cookie dough + 2 cups cereal Recipe Inspiration: Peanut Butter Pufferdoodle Cookies Combos we tried: Peanut Butter Cookies + Reese’s Puffs; Sugar Cookies + Trix; Chocolate Chip Cookies + Cinnamon Toast Crunch What we changed: Nothing! These amounts of dough and cereal worked for every flavor pairing we tried. Tip: Follow package instructions for the best bake times for each dough. Make it Gluten-Free: This recipe is easy to make gluten-free so everyone can enjoy! Just replace the cookie dough with a gluten-free option like Immaculate Baking and swap out the cereal for your favorite flavored gluten-free cereal like Cheerios or Chex. #2: 5-Minute Chocolate Bark Formula: 8 oz. baking chips + 1 cup cereal Recipe Inspiration: Trix White Chocolate Mashup About: We started with the amounts of chocolate and cereal called for in our base recipe, and dreamed up a few flavor combos we suspected would be just as delicious. Combos we tried: Almond Bark + Trix; Milk Chocolate + Golden Grahams; Peanut Butter Chips + Cocoa Puffs What we changed: We didn’t need the full cup of Golden Grahams—they are a larger shape than Trix and Cocoa Puffs, and covered more surface area. Tip: If your baking chips/coating aren’t melting easily, try adding 1 teaspoon of vegetable oil to help you reach a smooth consistency. And if you want a thicker bark, increase the amount of chocolate you use from 8 oz. to 12 oz. #3: Marshmallow No-Bake Bars Formula: ¼ cup butter + 4 cups mini marshmallows (or 1 bag large) + 8 cups cereal of choice Recipe Inspiration: Gluten-Free Chex Cereal Treat Bars About: These microwaveable no-bake bars come together in minutes. Because you don’t need to use a burner or oven, this is a great starter recipe for kids who want to do more in the kitchen. Combos we tried: Chex; Trix; Kix What we changed: Because Kix and Trix are smaller in size than Chex, we mixed in additional 1 cup of cereal for those batches. Tip: These bars can be sticky! Try coating your hands with cooking spray before pressing cereal mixture into pan for easier handling. There’s no such thing as too much dessert. Get your fix with our best recipes!
