Easy Caramel Apple Cinnamon Rolls
Apple desserts, new recruits and a mad, mad dash to the oven.
By Kate Rogers

As Pillsbury.com editors, we spend all day every day dishing up meal ideas that you can pull off QUICKLY and DELICIOUSLY. If it doesn’t fall in both buckets, it’s not a fit for Pillsbury.

Part of this search for darn good, darn doable food means I get to work with our network of fantastically talented contributors. We find bloggers whose recipes make us drop-jaw drool (it can be embarrassing) and are Pillsbury all the way. If the blogger likes us and our products, a partnership is born.

We’ve been growing our network – an already stacked bench that includes Chef in Training, Oh Sweet Basil, Oh Bite It!, Grandbaby Cakes and Whipperberry – by adding more top-tier bloggers, including Crazy for Crust, Foodness Gracious and Roxana’s Home Baking. Let me tell you, the future is looking delicious.

My night last Thursday, however, was looking anything but. I was trying to pack to leave town for a wedding. I was running around my house like a crazy person muttering about how in the world my twin baby boys will survive a flight to Seattle, barking thoughtless orders at my husband and fretting that I have nothing to wear.

Through all or–or maybe in spite of it–I was craving a big ol’ apple dessert. Go figure.

Then I remembered one of our new recruits. Crazy for Crust recently posted about procrastination (hello, guilty) and some amazing-looking Easy Caramel Apple Cinnamon Rolls. YOU GUYS. I made them. Right in the middle of my stress storm. My husband, Matt, was horrified. “Do you KNOW what time we’re getting on the plane tomorrow?” he asked. “And you’re baking?!”

I couldn’t help myself. When the craving hits, you have to strike.

But here’s the best part. They were SO GOOD and SO EASY. I diced apples (Honeycrisps), cooked them down with butter, cinnamon and sugar, rolled them in crescent dough and made a ridonkulous caramel icing in less than 30 minutes. I kid you not.

Crazy for Crust’s recipe is so solid, even Matt came around. (Begrudgingly, but how could he resist?)

I was reminded, affirmed and happy that we mean it when we say this stuff is good and fast. I love it when I can vouch first-hand.

As for Crazy for Crust, you’ll be seeing a lot more of her work here shortly. She fits right in.
