I absolutely love apple pie and I crave it all the time, so I love having the chance to turn it into something new and delicious. If you’re looking for a special dessert or something new for weekend breakfast with the fam, pie-stuffed waffles are the perfect treat!
Pillsbury biscuits are so good when made in the waffle maker and I love getting inventive with filling ‘em up with new and fun flavors. This “recipe” is my favorite yet! Just two three ingredients make this a killer breakfast trick you can repeat with your favorite pie filling.
Preheat waffle make to medium-high. Separate 1 can of biscuits into 8 pieces. Cut each biscuit horizontally, like you’re cutting a sandwich roll.
Place ½ a can of pie filling in a small bowl. If the apples are large, cut them in half so they’ll fit in the biscuits.
Place about a 1-2 tablespoons of apple pieces in the center of one half of each biscuit. Top with the remaining half.
Use a fork to pinch the edges of the biscuit closed.
Spray your waffle maker with nonstick cooking spray. Cook waffles 1 or 2 at a time (depending on the size of your waffle maker) for about 1 minute. Remove carefully to a plate to cool.
Serve waffles warm and topped with whipped cream and caramel sauce as a dessert or with maple syrup as a breakfast.
