In 2-quart saucepan, heat 1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil over medium-low heat. Cook onion and garlic in oil 2 to 3 minutes, stirring frequently, until onion is tender.
Stir in cooking sauces and pepper flakes; heat to boiling. Reduce heat to low; simmer 5 minutes to blend flavors. Serve over pasta; sprinkle with nutmeg, pepper and cheese.
