Wild Rice Stuffing

The nutty flavor and full-bodied texture of wild rice give unexpected authenticity to this traditional stuffing recipe.

Ingredients

cup uncooked whole-grain wild rice (not cracked or broken)

cup sliced fresh mushrooms

medium onion, chopped (1/2 cup)
1
medium stalk celery, chopped (about 1/2 cup)

medium carrot, chopped (about 1/2 cup)
2
tablespoons butter or margarine, cut into small pieces
1
container (32 oz) Progresso® original chicken broth

cups herb-seasoned cubed stuffing
  • 1 In 5- to 6-quart slow cooker, mix all ingredients except stuffing.
  • 2 Cover; cook on Low heat setting 5 hours.
  • 3 Gently stir stuffing into rice mixture. Cover; cook 45 to 60 minutes longer or until stuffing is moist and tender.
  • 4 Just before serving, gently stir mixture.
