Whole Wheat Dressing with Apple Chicken Sausage

large apple, chopped (2 cups)

cup sweetened dried cranberries

cup minced fresh parsley

tablespoon soy sauce

  • 1 Heat oven to 350°F. Spray 13x9-inch (3-quart) glass baking dish with cooking spray. In large bowl, place bread cubes.
  • 2 In 12-inch nonstick skillet, melt butter over medium-high heat. Cook sausage and celery in butter 7 to 9 minutes, stirring occasionally, until sausage is no longer pink. Add onion, garlic, sage, rosemary, thyme, salt and pepper; cook and stir 2 minutes longer.
  • 3 Pour sausage mixture over bread cubes. Stir in apple, cranberries, parsley and soy sauce. Drizzle with broth; mix lightly. Spoon into baking dish.
  • 4 Cover with foil; bake 20 minutes or until heated through. Uncover; bake 10 to 15 minutes longer or until lightly browned.
