Making this with some cubed ham. I always add cheese to biscuts near the end of baking so it just melts and stays creamier. Will add a bit of cheese to the whole top of casserole. Don't push the biscuts to far into the filling, they cook better.

Awesome recipe! I do use frozen veggies sometimes, sometimes fresh, sometimes canned, and sometimes combined - depends on what I have handy at the time. I also add chicken...makes an awesome, filling meal. The biscuits DO come out soft on the bottom, but we never have an issue with that...and I don't know why you would think the butter would need to be nuked for 30-45 minutes, it says seconds, but then it also says "or until melted". These recipes are really basically an idea that can be tweaked to however you think it should be for your family.

If you cook this meal..make sure you cook the biscuits first then layer on top of casserole. My bread cooked on top only and had dough under. it was a let down. It takes turning the bread over halfway through cooking time. The cooking time is wrong on the directions...you have to cook for total-30mins.

Why can't you use a bag of mixed vegetables and a bag of frozen peppers/onions?
