I like the idea of the olive 'eyeball' oozing out, but one kid hates olives. Any suggestions for alternative centers?

This was very tasty, but not very easy to make. The olives have to be BONE dry (very difficult to achieve with jarred, stuffed olives) otherwise the dough won't stick to them.
