Expert Tips

Smoked Spanish paprika is a special spice that has a distinct, smoky flavor from smoked peppers. Look for it in the spice aisle of the supermarket or ethnic markets.

If smoked Spanish paprika is unavailable, substitute any variety of paprika, such as sweet and mild or even hot. Either will provide the aromatic flavor from the peppers without the smokiness.

To Jennie D and all others watching their salt/sodium ...delete the garlic salt as Jennie D recommended, but, also remember that all barbecue sauce has a high salt content. Once you make these substitutes, it sounds like a tasty and much lower in salt meal! Lyn

I rubbed the Chicken on both sides then put it back into the fridge for 30 minutes. . . . .then grilled. It was GREAT!!!!!!!!

While this has a yummy taste, the sodium level is really high on this recipe. For those on a low sodium diet substitute real minced garlic for garlic salt for a healthier version.

One of the best rubs I ever made for the grill. It even makes pork roasts taste extra delicious. I love to grill roasts and also smoke them. Great flavors that way
