Turkey with Cranberry Stuffing

Stuffing with dried cranberries rallies around turkey in this slow-cooker medley that earns high marks for both taste and ease of preparation.

Ingredients

package (6 oz) cubed herb-seasoned stuffing mix

cup sliced celery (2 medium stalks)

cup chopped onion (1 medium)
1/4
teaspoon poultry seasoning, if desired

cup chicken broth
1/2
cup sweetened dried cranberries

lb bone-in turkey or chicken thighs, skin removed

teaspoon salt
1/4
teaspoon pepper

jar (12 oz) turkey gravy
  • 1 Spray 3 1/2- to 4-quart slow cooker with cooking spray. In medium bowl, mix stuffing mix, celery, onion and poultry seasoning. Stir in broth to moisten. Stir in cranberries.
  • 2 Spoon half of stuffing into slow cooker. Sprinkle turkey with salt and pepper; place over stuffing. Spoon remaining stuffing around turkey.
  • 3 Cover; cook on Low heat setting 8 to 9 hours.
  • 4 About 15 minutes before serving, remove turkey from slow cooker; keep warm. Stir stuffing and cooking juices until mixed. Cover; let stand about 10 minutes. Meanwhile, in 1-quart saucepan, heat gravy.
  • 5 Cut turkey into serving pieces. Serve with stuffing and gravy.
