Triple Decker Brownies with Bourbon Chocolate Sauce

creme-filled chocolate sandwich cookies

box (18.3 oz) fudge brownie mix
1/2
cup vegetable oil
1/4
cup water

eggs

jar (12 oz) chocolate fudge topping
1
tablespoon bourbon

Directions

  • 1 Heat oven to 350°F (325°F for dark or nonstick pan). Line 13x9-inch pan with cooking parchment paper or foil; spray paper or foil with cooking spray.
  • 2 Place cookie dough rounds in 6 rows by 4 rows in pan. Press dough into pan to cover bottom. Arrange sandwich cookies in 6 rows by 4 rows over cookie dough.
  • 3 In medium bowl, stir together brownie mix, oil, water and eggs until smooth. Pour batter over sandwich cookies. Use spatula to gently spread batter evenly over cookies so that they are no longer visible.
  • 4 Bake 40 to 50 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out almost clean. Cool completely, about 45 minutes.
  • 5 In small microwavable bowl or glass measuring cup, microwave fudge topping on High 20 to 30 seconds or until soft. Stir in bourbon. Drizzle over cooled brownies. Cut into 6 rows by 4 rows.

These are really good and very easy to make. Quite rich though. I had to bake them longer than was called for, the brownie mix was still liquid. It's a good recipe to have kids help with.

No thank you. These are dry and the layers fall apart when taking them out of the pan. It didn't look anything like the picture. We do not believe in alcohol so I skipped the sauce. I guess it makes all the difference since none of my family liked these, including a kid who eats everything. We prefer soft cookies but by the time the brownie finally was done, the cookie dough was hard as a rock. The Oreos stuck to my teeth and pulled out a filling. We are on an extremely strict budget so for us they are expensive to make by the time I buy all the mixes. I would rather have had the 3 des

Just OK. The flavors do not meld as well as I anticipated (a la chocolate & peanut butter). Oreo creme filling turns gooey from cooking. Did not top with bourbon sauce as we are not alcohol consumers.

Took these to a neighborhood party and everyone just LOVED these. And yes, I used Oreos but didn't break them up.......laid them out in rows 6x4.

For the reviewer that asked about calorie count.... check out myfitnesspal.com - Recipe Nutrition Calculator. There you can enter all the ingredients for any recipe and it will calculate calorie, fat grams, etc. You can even enter Name Brand ingredients to get exact numbers.
