Expert Tips

Gouda is a popular cheese from Holland. It has a creamy texture and a mild, nut-like flavor that gets stronger as it ages. Gouda made in the United States is not usually aged and thus tastes quite mild.

Three tablespoons of mayonnaise combined with 1 tablespoon of Dijon mustard can be used in place of the mustard-mayonnaise sauce.

I used Kraft brand mayo horseradish dijon spread and I'm not a fan on grilled ham and cheese, but this sandwich bursts with flavor and was a brand new take on a simple classic. My fiance' and I loved it! Perfect for entertaining guests.
