I love this soup. It's very easy & fast to make. I put kidney beans in mine plus I add sour cream & jalapeno peppers to spice it up a little. I also have nacho chips to dip in the soup. My husband & son LOVE it!

Wow... I was surprised by this soup. It turned out really good! Easy to make, easy ingredients, and could be used for a quick week-night supper! I did substitute Rotel w/green chiles for the regular diced tomatoes (which kicked it up a notch!), used the beef broth instead of water, and added a can of black beans. I did use a little more than 1/4C of green onions (because we like them!), but otherwise, followed the recipe. I served it with the cheese on top, and added a dallop of sour cream and a few chopped green onions, with some nacho chips on the side. I definitely will be making this a

We love taco soup at our house and yes add all the suggested ingredients to the original recipe. That includes the ranch seasoning. Do not substitute it for the taco seasoning, add them both. Don't forget to drain and rinse your black beans! And taco soup is not complete without toppings; Sour cream, shredded cheese, cold salsa and chips! We really love guacamole chips the best! (Your soup will still taste great if you don't have the ranch seasoning. Your can add or delete any ingredient, its a very forgiving recipe. Except maybe the taco mix.)

I enjoyed this soup a lot. I used beef broth instead of water and it gave the soup a deeper flavor to it. I also did a combination of ranch mix and taco seasoning and I flavored the meat with minced onions and cilantro during the browning process. Very flavorful, fulfilling, and easy to make!

I make taco soup a little different. Add to the above 1 pkg of dry ranch dressing, 1 can of black beans, 1 large can of pint beans or kidney beans. I like kidney beans. You will need more tomatoes. I use 2 large cans of crushed tomatoes. I also add a can of rotel tomatoes and green chilies. What ever t that you like. Yoo use all of the other ingredients that is in the recipe. Top with a little grated cheese. Enjoy! this freezes well too.
