Tangy Turkey Meatballs

Ingredients

MEATBALLS

lb. lean ground turkey

tablespoons unseasoned bread crumbs

tablespoons finely chopped green bell pepper

garlic clove, minced

egg white

drops hot pepper sauce

tablespoon oil

SAUCE

1/2
cup light ketchup

tablespoons brown sugar
3
tablespoons water
3
tablespoons light molasses

tablespoons lemon juice
2
tablespoons red wine vinegar

teaspoon chili powder
1/2
teaspoon dry mustard

teaspoon ground red pepper (cayenne)
  • 1 In medium bowl, combine all meatball ingredients except oil; mix well. Shape into 16 (1 1/4-inch) balls.
  • 2 In medium skillet, heat oil over medium-high heat until hot. Add meatballs; cook until browned. Drain; return meatballs to skillet.
  • 3 In small bowl, combine all sauce ingredients; mix well. Pour over drained meatballs. Cover; simmer 10 minutes. Serve with cocktail toothpicks.
