Tangy Beans and Bacon

Green beans are lifted out of the doldrums with bacon and sweet-and-sour sauce in this terrific vegetable side dish.

Ingredients

tablespoon oil

medium onion, sliced (3/4 cup)

cups Green Giant® frozen cut green beans

tablespoons water
1/2
cup purchased sweet-and-sour sauce

tablespoons cider vinegar

can (15.5 oz) great northern beans, drained, rinsed

slices precooked bacon, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 Heat oil in wok or 12-inch nonstick skillet over medium-high heat until hot. Add onion; cook and stir 3 to 4 minutes or until onion is tender and lightly browned.
  • 2 Add frozen green beans; cook and stir 3 minutes. Add water; cover and cook 5 to 6 minutes or until beans are tender, stirring occasionally. Meanwhile, in 1-cup glass measuring cup, mix sweet-and-sour sauce and vinegar.
  • 3 Add sauce mixture, great northern beans and bacon to wok; cook and stir 1 to 2 minutes or until thoroughly heated.
