Sweet and Spicy Meatballs

Meatballs

lb lean (at least 80%) ground beef

lb ground pork

cup Progresso™ plain bread crumbs

cup finely chopped onion
1/3
cup finely chopped red bell pepper

teaspoon garlic powder

teaspoon salt

teaspoon ground coriander

teaspoon pepper

egg, slightly beaten

Sauce

cup red or amber hot jalapeño jelly

cup apple juice

tablespoons cornstarch

teaspoon salt
1/2
teaspoon ground ginger
1/2
teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 Heat oven to 375°F. Line 15x10x1-inch pan with foil; grease foil. In large bowl, mix meatball ingredients until well blended. Shape into 36 (1 1/4-inch) meatballs. Place in pan.
  • 2 Bake 25 to 30 minutes or until thoroughly cooked and no longer pink in center.
  • 3 In 4-quart saucepan, mix sauce ingredients. Cook over medium heat 2 to 3 minutes, stirring constantly, until thickened.
  • 4 Add meatballs to sauce; stir to coat. Cook over medium-low heat 5 to 7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until hot.
