Spend the extra money and buy the premium cherry filling. There's more fruit and less corn syrup. For a big thick pie, use 3 cans of cherries, drain the juice from one of them and add the juice from 1/2 lemon. I'm not a pastry maker so this quick and easy pie works for me. The Pillsbury Pie Crusts are great!

I strain the 2nd can of pie filling in order to get more fruit into the pie. I also add 1/8 teaspoon lemon juice
and 1/8 tsp almond extract to the filling.

I make this often and everyone raves about this simple pie. They have no idea that it takes just a few minutes to put it together. It has a wonderful homemade flavor. My family's favorite is cherry. It's delicious!
