Expert Tips

The leftover mushroom stems in this recipe can be added to soups or sautéed with onions to top a burger or mashed potatoes. Or, slice them for use in an omelet.

Decorate your tables with colorful curled ribbon streamers for a festive look that instantly says "party!" Long curled ribbon streamers can be draped over tables; shorter streamers can be placed between individual place settings or between serving dishes on a buffet talbe.

To make curled ribbon streamers, you'll need a sharp scissors and two or three different colors of curling ribbon that coordinate with your color scheme. •Cut the curling ribbon into desired lengths. For long table streamers, use about 2 yards. For shorter streamers for end tables or balloon bouquets, try 1-yard lenghts. •Pull the ribbon across the sharp edge of the scissores to form curls, then arrange the streamers as desired, anchoring the ends with tape.
