Chocolate-Stuffed Mitten Sugar Cookies

Ingredients

roll (16.5 oz) Pillsbury™ refrigerated sugar cookies
1/4
cup all-purpose flour
1/2
cup candy-coated chocolate candies
1
cup vanilla creamy ready-to-spread frosting
Decorations, if desired (colored sugars, coconut, sprinkles)

Directions

  1. 1 Heat oven to 350°F. In large bowl, break up cookie dough. Stir or knead in 1/4 cup flour until well blended. Remove half the dough. Sprinkle work surface lightly with flour. With floured rolling pin, roll dough 1/8 inch thick.
  2. 2 With 3-inch mitten-shaped cookie cutter, cut dough into mitten shapes, rerolling dough as needed. On ungreased cookie sheets, place half of the shapes 2 inches apart. Place 2 chocolate candies on each mitten; place remaining mitten cutouts on top of candies, pressing sides slightly to seal. Repeat with remaining half of dough.
  3. 3 Bake 9 to 11 minutes or until light golden brown. Immediately remove from cookie sheets to cooling racks. Cool completely, about 15 minutes.
  4. 4 Frost and decorate cookies as desired.
