I made it for my family reunion. It was the "star" of the dessert table and I am from the South where decadence in food is well known and loved. Awesome recipe and yes, it could very easily be made less "fattening".

Great Pie, no matter how you slice it!%0d%0aIf I wanted a cardiologists opinion, I'd go to one of their sites... in the mean time. I dont think this is the place for health care advice.

Fabulous! Decadent! If I wanted a low-cal, no-taste dessert, I would have searched for one. This recipe does not claim to be healthy - just delicious. 5-stars!!!!!

Delicious! I made a petite version as a test - I'm making a bunch of scrumptious, fruity desserts for my Mother-In-Law for her 80th birthday party. I wouldn't change a thing about this recipe, but it would be very simple to make changes to lower fat, cholesterol, etc.
As for the people who rated the recipe and didn't make it - I vote and ask that their remarks be removed from the ratings based upon the Rules for Posting:
1. they don't count - the persons did not make the recipe
2. (AND MOST IMPORTANT) - they have broken the posting rules...specifically (d) Be nice...no derogatory...objectionable or mean remarks; (e) Don't invade anyone's privacy

This pie is fabulous! My family loved it. If we eat dessert we want it to be sweet, beautiful and delicious. This pie met our standards and we enjoyed every bite. The rest of the week we can eat sugar-free gelatin, but this pie is worth every calorie! :^)

What happened to the days when we enjoyed eating pie and didn't think of the calories or fat intake? This pie is delicious and I definitely will make it again.

GREAT TASTE - made for a special person and special occassion. Laobr intensive - high fat, high calories but we loved it. Wouldn't make it a lot but for a special person and special occassion - it's worth it.
