Strip Steaks with Mango-Peach Salsa

Ingredients

cup finely chopped red bell pepper

teaspoons finely chopped seeded jalapeño chilies

teaspoon finely chopped or grated gingerroot or 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
1/4
cup peach preserves
1
tablespoon lime juice
1
small mango, chopped (1 cup)
4
beef boneless New York strip steaks (about 1 1/2 pounds)
1
to 2 teaspoons Caribbean jerk seasoning

Directions

  1. 1 Mix bell pepper, chilies and gingerroot in medium bowl. Stir in preserves, lime juice and mango.
  2. 2 Set oven control to broil. Sprinkle both sides of beef with jerk seasoning. Place on rack in broiler pan. Broil with tops 4 to 6 inches from heat 6 to 10 minutes; turning once, until desired doneness. Serve with salsa mixture.
