Definitely a must-have at the dinner table on both Thanksgiving and Christmas. I also bake one of these pies to give to my fiance's parents for both Thanksgiving and Christmas. Sometimes if I have left-over filling I will make a mini-pie for my fiance to snack on the next day, since there are never any left-overs of this pie!

I made this last fall for a dinner party with friends and they loved it. The topping added a little something to my favorite fall dessert.

I made this pie for Thanksgiving and it was a hit! Especially the streusel topping. I thought it called for oats instead of pecans so I made the streusel with oats. It came out so good. It's been requested to be a dessert at Christmas.

Made this on Wednesday for Thanksgiving. There were no oats in the recipe so I just added a handful of oats to the streusel. It took about 40 minutes extra to bake and the streusel was black on the high places. It was not attractive. No one wanted to eat it. I scrapped off the streusel and that helped. It still looked awful. And it was way too much filling for one pie crust.

I used my normal crust and pumpkin pie filling and added your streusel to the top....everyone loved it more than they normally do. I think the added textur really gave it an extra kick.

I'm not much of a cook and this turned out really well for me...Instead of the Streusel in the recipe, I cut butter into Betty Crocker Oatmeal Cookie mix. It makes a wonderful Struesel, not too sweet...I chopped pecans and added those to the struesel mix

Question? what's the 'oat' part and is this recipe made for 1 or 2 pies?

I didn't see the oats either. Does anyone know what kind of oats and the amount used?

The recipe looks delicious.....but for the life of me I cannot find the oats in the "crunchy oat topping".
