cake part is to dry. over whelms the whole. I used fresh peaches and loved the topping with the fresh peaches. I would cut the cake down so it isn't over whelming. Yes, maybe try adding sour cream to the cake part.

Love peaches, so had to try this recipe. Unfortunately, didn't live up to expectations. Did use a large can of peaches, as was suggested by another reviewer. The "cake" part was dry and not very flavorful. Maybe adding sour cream, oil, or small pieces of peaches to the batter may help with the dryness problem. Also, will sprinkle the pieces of peaches with cinnamon and ground pecans before adding to the batter to punch up the flavor a bit.

We loved it! However, 15 oz. can of peaches is not big enough for a 13x9 cake. I used a jar of peaches (23.5 oz.) and used all of the juice for the liquid. 2/3 c. liquid is not enough! Batter is still pretty thick and doesn't "pour", but I spread it out in the pan with the spoon. I also used Splenda in the batter instead of sugar. It turned out perfect and will definitely make it again. May try it with other fruit next time.
