Strawberries and Cream Pie

Inspired by recipes for cheesecake and cream pies, this heavenly whipped cream-cream cheese filling nestles beneath fresh strawberries and drizzled chocolate. If you wish, substitute raspberries or blueberries, or a combination.

Made this pie when the temperature was 102. I did not want to use my oven, so I placed the filling in a shortbread Ready Crust. It was delicious and did not heat up my Kitchen!

I made this for our bible study, thankfully, I made two. They were both gone after they left. Yummm Yumm, I used low fat cool whip instead of the heavy whip cream to cut a few calories, not to mention it cuts down on the time to make.

I made this for our family 4th of July picnic and it was a big hit! I made a few substitutions in the recipe to make it a little "healthier". Instead of the sugar I used a packet of splenda and I used light cool whip instead of the heaving whipping cream step. It's less fat and added the sweetness that I took away removing the sugar. I also used a graham cracker crust because it seemed to go better with the type of filling than a traditional crust did. The pie was gone within minutes of it hitting the table. ENJOY!!

we all loved it.....but I added a 1/2 c of milk choc chips in addition to the semi sweet and added milk to help thin the chips as well as the shortening. I added a 1/2 tsp on vanilla as well....turned out amazing!!!!!!!!!

I disagree with the review about it not being sweet enough! It seemed perfectly sweet to me! Its not a dense, rich dessert but a light, creamy, deliciously sweet one. I served this at a party and the entire pie vanished within seconds. Everyone loved it and the woman were eager to get the recipe. I love this dessert!

This was the best pie, we have had in a long time! We had company, there was four of us and we ate the whole pie that night. It was SOOOOOOOOO easy! The only changes I made was I did not add the 1 tablespoon of shorting to the chocolate chips, if you melt them at 1/2 power in your microwave for a few seconds at a time they melt just perfect and I didn't stand my stawberries up, I sliced them to cover the whole pie and place them so it was easy to cut!
