Do not use extra stout beer.

A fun and easy dessert! Used Guiness and Slow Churn French Vanilla from Dreyers. I also added whipped cream and sprinkled mini chocolate chips on the top. They were a hit!

This is delicious. Guinness Stout already has a "root beer" flavor to it anyway, and pouring it over ice cream is wonderful.

Excellent! Guinness is by far one of the best stout beers to use in this recipe. I never would have thought to make a stout root beer float until I found this recipe.

Been making these for years now. My latest favorite combination is Rogue Chocolate Stout with Cold Stone Sweet Cream Ice Cream. Mmmm. Really good!

I had this before! The one I tried was made with Georgetown Brewery's 9lb Hammer (stout), homemade vanilla ice cream, chocolate sauce and homemade caramel! It was also made in a pounder sized glass. Pretty darn good - and will be trying again
