Best cookies ever! My grandma has made these my whole life and I plan to carry on the tradition.

I made these for my daughter when she was little. She now is grown and asked if I had the recipe. (Yes, I have that Bake off book) She and her children now make them. Not having any recipes to pass down , we now have one!

I remember this recipe from my childhood. My mother made these for my family and I remembered the name of the recipe all these years because it was part of my cherished childhood memories. My daughter tried to make them last month based on my description but they didn't taste the same. I never thought the recipe could be be found on the internet but she tried it this morning and there it was! We're going to make them together today and tonight I'm calling my mom in VA. to tell her we found the recipe for the treats she used to make for her kids back in the 50's.
