Besides being an irresistible party snack, the popcorn-peanut mixture also makes a thoughtful gift for a teacher or co-worker. Package it in a wide-mouthed glass jar, and tie a square of gingham around the lid with a length of raffia.

Ingredients

  • 8 cups popped popcorn
  • 1 cup dry-roasted peanuts
  • 3 tablespoons oil
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground red pepper (cayenne)

    Heat oven to 250°F. In 13x9-inch pan, combine popcorn and peanuts. In small bowl, combine all remaining ingredients; blend well. Drizzle evenly over popcorn mixture; toss to coat.

    Bake at 250°F. for 30 minutes, stirring once or twice. Cool 30 minutes or until completely cooled. Store in tightly covered container.
