I was born the year this recipe won the Bake-Off! I had checked out the Bake-Off book from the library, and this recipe caught my eye, because I love any desserts containing apples - especially apple pie. I first made these several years ago, and I had to call my sister because I was a little confused about pouring the water into the pan after they baked. But I tried it - and loved it! I make them every Thanksgiving, and they go over better than the apple or pumpkin pies. My family now expects them every year. I wish I could make them look as presentable as in the picture, but I'm sure they taste as good! %0d%0a

When I first tried this reciepe [ the year it was a Pillsbury winner] , my husband and children thought they were better than any other apple dessert I had ever made. I have been making them ever since. Now , I guess thirty or so years later, they are still a big hit with my children and their children, [my grandchildren] When my oldest grandson was about three years old , the first time I made the Apple Twist for him, he looked up at me and said "these are the bes-test apple things I ever had . That says it all. To this day he and his brothers and two cousins still think they are the bes-test. I cannot believe I have been making them for all these years and enjoying them as much now as then. Thank you Pillsbury.
