These simple sweet and spicy glazed walnuts are an easy holiday snack for you or your guests. They make great gifts, too!

Ingredients

  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground red pepper (cayenne)
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
  • 3 cups walnut halves

Steps

    Heat oven to 325°F. Line 17x12-inch halfsheet pan with cooking parchment paper.

    In large bowl, mix sugar, honey, salt, red pepper and chili powder (mixture will be thick). Add walnuts; stir to coat well. Spread mixture in single layer in pan.

    Bake 15 minutes, stirring once, until toasted. Turn oven off. Stir; let mixture remain in oven 15 minutes (do not stir). Cool completely in pan on cooling rack, about 30 minutes. Break mixture apart. Store tightly covered at room temperature.
