Southwest Cheese Bread

Bake these French bread slices topped with cheese, bell pepper and green onion for a Southwest-styled appetizer recipe - ready in just 15 minutes!

slices French bread (1/2 inch thick)

cup mayonnaise or salad dressing

tablespoons finely chopped bell pepper

tablespoons finely chopped green onion

teaspoon chopped fresh cilantro or parsley, if desired

cup shredded Colby-Jack cheese (2 ounces)
  • 1 Heat oven to 400º.
  • 2 Mix all ingredients except bread and cheese. Spread on one side of each bread slice. Sprinkle with cheese. Place on ungreased cookie sheet.
  • 3 Bake 5 to 6 minutes or until cheese is melted and bread is slightly toasted on bottom.
